Port Vale and MK Dons will meet this weekend in League One as the away side look to put together a run of form that will see them jump out of the relegation zone just as the home outfit bid for a spot in the top half of the table.
It's been a topsy-turvy season for Vale this year. The club have come within touching distance of the playoff spots and have also been as low as 16th in the table, where they currently sit once more.
Darrell Clarke's men head into this game with a 10-point gap on MK Dons in 22nd, but the worrying factor is their games played. Clarke's side have played out more games than anyone else in League One this campaign and head into the game with 34 fixtures played compared to others around them who have played 32 and 31. This has also seen Vale win just 11 games from 34 outings and concede 49 goals and lose 16 times.
As for MK Dons, their 30 points also come from 34 games and they have to deal with the fact that Accrington Stanley just above them have played out 31 games and could extend their gap on the bottom three and consequently send the Dons deeps into relegation. They drew with Lincoln City 1-1 last time out, and this now means Mark Jackson's men have not won since beating Bristol Rovers this time last month away from home.
