Plymouth Argyle are looking to wrap up the League One title on Sunday as they face Port Vale.
Port Vale currently sit 18th in League One with thirteen wins, ten draws and twenty-two losses from forty-five games this season.
Port Vale have had a hugely forgettable campaign and their fans will be delighted that it's now over having seen their side finish the season abysmally, winning just three of their last twenty league matches.
They're coming into this game having lost three of their last four matches, the most recent of which was a 3-2 defeat away at Charlton Athletic.
Their home form isn't much better either, with Vale winning one, drawing one and losing two of their last four games on home soil.
They can, though, take confidence from the fact they beat Plymouth 2-0 away from home when the two sides met back in December.
Port Vale have taken a nose dive since then though, and had they not had a solid first half of the campaign they almost certainly would have been relegated considering how much they've dropped off since the turn of the year.
There are some big decisions to make at the club this summer as they'll need a lot of chance to avoid a long, painful campaign next time around. They're looking to spin Plymouth's title party here but the chances of that seem slim.
Plymouth Argyle currently sit top of the League One table with thirty wins, eight draws and seven losses from forty-five games this season.
The Pilgrims have, quite frankly, had an outstanding season having secured automatic promotion with a game to spare with few people labelling them as promotion favourites coming into the season.
Better still, they've done it with a jaw-dropping points total of 98 having fended off two excellent teams in Ipswich Town (for now) and Sheffield Wednesday, both of whom have cleared the 90 point bar.
To seal promotion in such a manner is a monumental achievement for a side that was not expected to achieve anything remotely close to this and they now look to seal the title on the final day of the campaign to put the cherry on the cake that is their 2022/23 League One season.
They're currently one point ahead of Ipswich Town so they probably need to win here to seal the deal, and given they're entering this game having won their last five on the bounce at such a crucial point in the season show's they've got nerves of steel.
Plymouth would be deserving champions and, given the form of their opponents, they should make it official here.
For our Port Vale vs. Plymouth prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
