Wycombe vs Carlisle Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two sides sitting outside of the top 10 in League One are set to meet at Adams Park this weekend with Wycombe Wanderers set to welcome the struggling Carlisle United to their own backyard.

Carlisle have had a tough time in what is their first season back in League One for a number of years. The club are also coming into the game with a few injuries to deal with, and yet another defeat at Brunton Park where Derby County ran out 2-0 winners.

Carlisle also drew their games before this as well, meaning a winless spell during their past four games after also losing to Accrington Stanley in the Football League Trophy group stages by a 1-0 scoreline. The draws saw the Cumbrians tie with Stevenage and Lincoln City where goals from Luke Plange, Sean Maguire and Joe Garner secured a point in both games.

The last win for Carlisle saw them defeat Shrewsbury Town 2-9 where Joe Garner scored a goal in the 96th minute of the game after an own goal gave them the lead. The club did, however, have just two shots on target that day, which was the third time this season in which they have had less than three shots on target.

As for Wycombe, they are in a little bit of better form with a recent 2-0 win over Blackpool seeing them move up into 11th. However, Matt Bloomfield continues to struggle with consistency at the helm of the club with Crystal Palace U21s falling to a 1-0 defeat at Adams Park in the EFL Trophy, while they lost 3-1 to Charlton Athletic last time out where Freddie Potts scored.

          Carlisle team news

Carlisle's struggles spilled into the last gameweek and this was also coupled with an injury to Armer in defence. This likely brings in Terry Ablade to the side, while Alfie McCalmont is now back with the team too and should feature here. Jack Robinson is also back, and he could feature with Joe Garner. Ryan Edmondson is also set to feature in this one after his return to injury last time out. In midfield, Guy, Gibson and Owen Moxon should all feature here too. Elsewhere, Back, Lavelle and Huntingon are all set to be fit in defence and should feature.

          Wycombe team news

Brandan Hanlan came off in the last game but he is fit to play here alongside Sam Vokes - botha re 5/1 to score the game's first goal. Gareth McCleary should remain in the attacking midfield tole too, as Harry Boyes, Freddie Potts and Josh Scowen play in midfield with David Wheeler. Luke Leahy, Low and Forino-Joseph will all carry on in defence for this game too with Stryjek in goal. Dale Taylor and Killian Phillips are out of action in this game it seems, but Kieran Sadlier should return to action. Richard Keogh and Franco Ravizzoli are set to return as well, but Tjay De Barr and Jasper Pattenden are out for Matt Bloomfield's side.
