Crewe Alexandra travel to the Cherry Red Records Stadium to face Wimbledon this Saturday for their eighth game of the League Two season. Both sides have had a good start to the season with a good haul of points already, though they’ll both be looking to add to that.
Wimbledon sit 11th in League Two after seven games. With two wins, four draws and just one loss, Wimbledon already have a haul of ten points, keeping them in the top half of the table.
In their last five games in all competitions, Wimbledon have one win, two draws and two losses. The one win came in the Football League Trophy Group stage where they met Stevange. Joe Lewis equalised after a penalty from Jamie Reid gave Stevenage the lead. This sent the tie to penalties where a miss from Nick Freeman gave Wimbledon the 6 - 5 win in the shootout.
The first draw came against Forest Green Rovers where Wimbledon gave up the lead James Ball gave them in the first half to a late goal from Troy Deeney, the game finishing 1 - 1. The trip to Newport County finished as a 2 - 2 draw with a James Tilley double. The first loss came against Chelsea in the League Cup. Wimbledon took the lead through a Tilley penalty but a penalty from Noni Madueke and an Enzo Fernandez goal gave Chelsea the 2 - 1 win.
Wimbledon’s last time out was against 17th-place Stockport. Though Josh Davison opened the scoring for Wimbledon, it was not enough as Louie Barry and Will Collar both scored to give Stockport the 2 -1 win.
Crewe sit five places above their opponents in sixth in the table. In seven games, Crewe have picked up three wins, three draws and one loss, leaving them on 12 points, just three points adrift of top-of-the-table Gillingham.

Jamie Walker scored the only goal in the 1 - 0 loss to Bradford and Ben Garrity scored the singular goal in the 1 - 0 win for Port Vale in the Football League Trophy, where Ryan Cooney was sent off for Crewe in the 98th minute.
The draw came in another meeting with Port Vale, this time a goalless meeting. This draw sent the tie to penalties where Crewe missed all four penalties as Port Vale won 2 - 0. The first win came against MK Dons, where Conor Thomas, Courtney Baker-Richardson and Chris Long all scored in the 3 - 1 win.
Crewe’s last action in League Two was against Forest Green Rovers. Reece Brown opened the scoring for Forest Green but goals from Long and Elliot Nevitt along with a double from Baker-Richardson gave Crewe the 4 - 1 win.
