AFC Wimbledon vs. Swindon Town Prediction, Tips & Stats

AFC Wimbledon face Swindon Town in League Two this weekend in what is effectively a dead rubber match.

AFC Wimbledon are currently 19th in League Two with eleven wins, fourteen draws and eighteen losses from forty-three games this season.

The Dons have had a successful season in that they've secured survival having looked in serious threat of relegation in the early portion of the season, but there have been a number of worrying signs at the back end of this season that could spell trouble looking ahead to the next campaign.

Were it not for a strong run of form running from late October to late December AFC Wimbledon would be deeply in the mire now having won just one of their last sixteen matches.

They enter this game having drawn one and lost three of their last four, the most recent of which was a 2-1 loss away at Stevenage, a result that confirmed their second defeat on the bounce.

Their home form isn't great either, with The Dons winning one and losing four of their last five games on home soil.

As previously mentioned, this egregious end to the season could foreshadow a gloomy campaign next season if deficiencies are not addressed during the summer so the board need to be on their toes during the offseason to make the necessary amendments to the club.

Swindon Town currently sit 11th in League Two with fourteen wins, thirteen draws and fifteen losses from forty-two games this season.

Swindon have had a forgettable campaign having spent the majority of it on the precipice of the play-off race without ever truly feeling part of it.

They enter this game in poor form overall having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five matches.

They did win their most recent game, though, having beat Bradford City 1-0 in what is was an impressive three points against a promotion contender.

The win was a welcome one for Swindon as it brought an end to a worrying nine-match winless run.

Their away form is still pretty concerning heading into this one having failed to win any of their last five on the road, drawing three and losing two.

Swindon have an excellent chance of picking up successive wins here given Wimbledon's egregious form. Their opponents are 20th in the form table and despite Swindon's poor showings away from home this one feels winnable.

For our Wimbledon vs. Swindon prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
