Two sides in the midst of the automatic promotion race meet in League Two this weekend as Barrow take on Crewe Alexandra.

Barrow have a had a strong campaign thus far and have major hopes of an automatic promotion spot, but given the competition involved in the race they’re going to have to find a way to become more consistent than they’ve been in recent weeks.

Their latest outing saw them held to a 2-2 draw away at Sutton United, a hugely disappointing result given Sutton were joint bottom of the league table heading into that game.
Even amidst their wobble, they’ve still remained strong on home soil as they enter this game unbeaten on their own patch in the league this season so if they’re going to drag themselves out of this mini rut it’s likely going to be in front of their own fans.
Indeed, this is a tough fixture to have to play when not at your best but a win against a side of Crewe’s quality could be exactly what they need to spur them on to refind their best form.

The Alex have been inconsistent in their form this season, but a very good recent run of results has catapulted them up the league table and into the automatic promotion mix.
They’re coming into this game amidst a three-match winning run that involved an away win at Mansfield Town, currently 3rd in the league table, which meant they inflicted only Mansfield’s second league defeat of the season.
Their most recent game was a 2-1 win over Swindon Town courtesy of goals from Elliott Nevitt and Courtney Baker-Richardson.
Their most recent game away from home was their landmark 1-0 win over Mansfield Town, but prior to that they’d failed to win any of their last four games on the road so there’s still some uncertainty surrounding their strength on the road.
They were beaten 1-3 by Barrow when the two sides met back in December but given how both sides’ form has since shifted they’ll feel well-placed to exact revenge in this one.
