Barrow vs. Gillingham Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Barrow vs. Gillingham prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Barrow look to keep their faint hopes of a top seven finish in League Two alive as they face Gillingham this weekend.

Barrow currently sit 10th in League Two with sixteen wins, seven draws and fifteen losses from thirty-eight games this season.

Barrow have had a fairly successful season, even if their form has fluctuated wildly, as they enter this game with an outside chance of reaching the play-offs with just eight games remaining.

They enter this game amidst a fairly mediocre run of form having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five matches.

Most recently, Barrow claimed three points in a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon courtesy of a second half comeback.

Their form at home has been fairly solid of late too, having won two and drawn two of their last four matches on home soil. They can, then, be confident of claiming successive wins here.

Barrow are currently six points shy of the play-off spots having played one game less than the two sides above them so the odds are stacked against them as far as a top seven finish is concerned. All they can do is try to win as many of their remaining games as possible and this weekend's game is one they need to win.

Gillingham are currently 17th in League Two with eleven wins, eleven draws and sixteen losses from thirty-eight games this season.

The Gills have had a successful season on the whole having improved dramatically over the course of the past few months following a dreadful start that had them looking like certainties for relegation.

Instead, they've all but secured survival with a couple of months to spare and they enter this game in decent form having won three of their last four matches, the most recent of which was a huge 1-0 win over automatic promotion chasers Carlisle United.

Admittedly, though, this three wins all came on home soil and their recent form away from home is much less impressive with Gillingham winning just one of their last six matches on the road.

These two sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw when they met in the league back in October and it would not be a surprise if we saw a similarly tight game here.

Gillingham have little left to play for at this point but it does not seem as though that is affecting their motivation given their recent results. Expect them to give as good as they get in this one.

          Barrow Team News

Barrow have no fresh injury worries for this one and could use the same team that started the 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon last time out, meaning a starting XI of: Farman; Canavan, McClelland, Ray; Feely, Foly, Gotts, Whitfield, Brough; Gordon, Waters.

          Gillingham Team News

Olly Lee and Jordan Green are both out for the away side here.

Gillingham could name the same XI that started the 1-0 win over Carlisle last time out, but George Lapsille may come in for Alex MacDonald.
