Bradford vs Colchester Prediction, Tips & Stats

Bradford and Colchester will meet in a huge game down in League Two this weekend with the home side looking to stomp their marker down on the playoff spots just as Colchester bid to get further away from the drop zone once more.

It's been an excellent 2023 for Colchester, as they now come into this game with a gap of nine points on Crawley Town in 23rd. On the other hand, the relegation-sitting side do have three games in hand to play over them, and that could suck Colchester right back into the mixture. However, it's not expected that we see Crawley go on such a fantastic run of winning form.

At the same time, the form of those below the U's is much weaker than them, as they have managed to win nine games so far and draw eight. The club have, however, not won in the past three games, with Walsall registering a 0-0 draw before a 1-0 loss to Carlisle United and Northampton Town.

As for Bradford, they're on a two-game winning run after defeating Doncaster Rovers 1-0 and Gillingham 2-0 in the league. It now sees Mark Hughes' men move up to sixth.

            Bradford team news

Andy Cook has been in great goalscoring form for Bradford this season and he will likely lead the line for Bradford once more here alongside Costelloe. Emmanuel Osadebe is also back here and should feature too. Scott Banks and Colin Doyle will get minutes in this game as well, and Ryan East has also likely got a chance to get back into the team here too. Ciaran Kelly and Romoney Chrichlow is also back in the side here. Smallwood, Clayton and Gilliead are all likely to play in midfield, but Stubbs in defence is set to face a late fitness test.

            Colchester team news

Kelleher, Smith and Hall will all likely play in the defence here for Colchester, although Smith is set to face a late fitness test. Greenidge and Read should remain in midfield, but Noah Chilvers is also set to play in the centre of the park as well, as he moved down to this part of the pitch in recent weeks. Jay, Tom Hopper and Appiah should all stay here too in the forward lines, but Alex Newby is back now and could feature. Tom Smith is out injured, and there is set to be a late fitness test for Ossama Ashley and John Akinde.
