Bradford City vs. Gillingham Prediction, Tips & Stats

Bradford City continue their League Two play-off push as they Gillingham in League Two this weekend.

Bradford City currently sit 6th in League Two with nineteen wins, fourteen draws and nine losses from forty-two games this season.

The Bantams have actually been fairly underwhelming this season despite their current league position having been pinned as a title contender coming into this season under the guidance of Mark Hughes, but the reality of their campaign has been far from that as they've spent the majority of the season outside of the play-off spots with a strong run in the last couple of months propelling them up the table.

They enter this game in decent form having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches.

However, it was their most recent game that ended in defeat with Hughes' men falling to a 1-0 loss away at Swindon Town after conceding in the 82nd minute.

Their form at home is still fairly encouraging, though, with Bradford unbeaten in their last five games on home soil having won their last two on the bounce.

The Bantams are just two points clear of Mansfield Town in 8th so all is still to play for in what is set to be a nervy finish to the season for all involved. Bradford need to respond to defeat at Swindon and this is a game they should win.

Gillingham currently sit 17th in League Two with thirteen wins, twelve draws and eighteen losses from forty-three games this season.

The Gills have ended up having an exceptionally successful campaign having comfortably secured survival in League Two, something that looked wholly unlikely before Christmas.

Gillingham were deep in the relegation zone and had one of the most impotent attacks in English football having struggled mightily to put the ball in the back of the net.

However, an abrupt and unforeseen improvement in form has led to them pulling well away of the bottom two as they now sit twelve points clear of the relegation zone with two left to play.

Their form is fairly decent too, with The Gills having won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four matches.

Their most recent game saw them secure an impressive 2-0 win over league leaders Leyton Orient courtesy of goals from Alex MacDonald and Cheye Alexander.

Their away form is much less convincing though, with Gillingham winless in their last five on the road having lost their last three on the bounce.

They'll likely lose here too given the difficulty of the fixture combined with the fact there could be much less urgency in their play with survival now secured.

For our Bradford vs. Gillingham prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.
