For our Colchester vs. Newport prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
Colchester United continue their League Two survival bid this weekend as they face Newport County.
Colchester United currently sit 21st in League Two with nine wins, ten draws and nineteen losses from twenty-one games this season.
Colchester have had an up and down season in terms of form and looked at one point as though they were heading for a comfortable mid-table finish. However, a poor run of form in recent weeks has dragged them back into the mire as they attempt to pull away from the bottom two.
Colchester enter this game having failed to win any of their last seven matches, drawing two and losing three of their last five.
Their most recent game saw them draw 1-1 at home to Tranmere Rovers, a result that confirmed a second successive draw which has, on the bright side, brought an end to a run of four straight defeats.
Their form on home soil has been more concerning than their away form of late, with Colchester failing to win any of their last seven home matches while losing two of their last three.
They also struggle massively to find the back of the net when playing at home given they've scored just three times in their last seven home games.
Colchester are five points clear of the relegation zone and need to pick up another few wins to ensure their survival. A home game against Newport is a fixture they should be looking to win.
Newport County currently sit 18th in League Two with ten wins, thirteen draws and fourteen losses from thirty-seven games this season.
The Welsh side have had a very forgettable campaign this time around having failed to make a sustained push for the play-off spots while staying within a safe distance from the relegation zone.
They enter this game amidst a fairly mediocre run of form having won one and drawn three of their last four matches, but having won their most recent game away at Tranmere Rovers, 3-1, they can be hopeful that their form has turned a corner.
Their form away from home has been pretty decent in recent weeks, in fact, with Newport winning two, drawing one and losing one of their last four games on the road.
Newport have already beaten Colchester twice this season, 1-0 in the league and 2-0 in the FA Cup, so considering their opponents shaky home form they can be confident of claiming a third straight win over Colchester here.
