Colchester vs. Tranmere Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Colchester vs. Tranmere prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Colchester United hope to take a step towards securing League Two safety as they face Tranmere Rovers this weekend.

Colchester United currently sit 21st in League Two with nine wins, nine draws and nineteen losses from thirty-seven games this season.

Colchester have been up and down on terms of form for the most part this season but a shoddy run of results has seen them dragged back into the relegation battle with just nine games remaining.

They enter this game amidst a fairly dismal run having drawn one and lost four of their last five matches in the league.

However, their most recent game saw them claim a huge point away at league leaders Leyton Orient having come from 2-0 down to dramatically snatch a point with the goals coming in the 89th and 92nd minute.

Their form at home is still a worry ahead of this game though with Colchester failing to win any of their last five games on home soil having failed to score in any of their last three.

Colchester are just five points clear of Hartlepool in 23rd and while survival is very much in their own hands things are nervy. They desperately need a win to break this winless run and a game against an out of form Tranmere side is a kind fixture.

Tranmere Rovers currently sit 14th in League Two with thirteen wins, nine draws and fifteen losses from thirty-seven games this season.

Tranmere have had a fairly unremarkable campaign this season and are slowly limping towards the finish line with nothing other than a mid-table finish on the cards for them.

They enter this game amidst a fairly poor run of form having lost each of their last two games on the bounce while failing to win any of their last three.

Their most recent game saw them fall to a disappointing 1-3 loss at home to Newport County.

Their form away from home is a major concern heading into this game too, with Tranmere losing four of their last five games on the road.

They can at least take confidence from the fact they beat Colchester 2-0 when the two sides met in the league back in August, and considering Colchester's form is in a bad spot they can be somewhat confident of taking three points here and putting an end to their ow winless run.

Arthury Read, Matt Jay and Kwesie Appiah could all be granted a place in the starting XI here.

          Tranmere Team News
