Crewe Alexandra vs Crawley Town Preview, Tips & Stats

Crewe Alexandra welcome Crawley Town to Gresty Road this Saturday in League Two. Crawley are deep in the fight for Play-off football, whereas Crawley are stuck in the bottom half of the table, but nearing a move to the top half of the table.

Crewe Alexandra currently sit fifth in League Two after 30 games. The Railwaymen have 14 wins, nine draws and seven losses, leaving them on 51 points, three points within the Play-off places.

In their last five games in all competitions, Crewe have three wins, one draw and one loss.

The goal from Joe White in the second minute was enough to give Crewe the 1 - 0 win over Mansfield Town, despite The Stags having 21 shots. Elliott Nevitt opened the scoring for Crewe in the 13th minute but Charlie Austin equalised for Swindon before halftime. The Railwaymen had five shots on target and Courtney Baker-Richardson converted one in the closing stages of the game to give Crewe the 2 - 1 win.

Robbie Gotts gave Barrow the early lead in the ninth minute but Nevitt equalised just before the 20 minute mark to make it level at halftime. Lewis Billington and Matus Holicek both scored in the second half to give Crewe the big 3 - 1 win over Barrow. Matt Smith’s first goal gave Salford City the lead in the fourth minute, but goals from Aaron Rowe and Nevitt in the last minutes of the first half gave Crewe the 2 - 1 lead at halftime. However, Smith grabbed two more goals to complete his hat-trick to give Salford the 3 - 2 win.

The last time out for Crewe was against Tranmere Rovers. Crewe only managed one shot on target and Tranmere couldn’t even manage one shot on target in the 0 - 0 draw.

Crawley Town, on the other hand, currently sit 14th in League Two. In 28 games, Crawley have 12 wins, three draws and 13 losses which leaves them on 39 points, just one point from the top half of the table.

In their last five games in all competitions, Crawley Town have two wins and three losses.

Dan Kemp’s 92nd minute goal was merely a consolation goal for Swindon Town as a brace from Danilo Orsi and a goal from Jack Roles gave Crawley the 3 - 1. Orsi opened the scoring for Crawley against Bradford City, but a goal from Liam Ridehalgh and an own goal from Corey Addai gave Bradford the 2 - 1 lead entering the last ten minutes. However, Adam Campbell equalised for Crawley in the 85th minute and then Orsi and Klaidi Lolos both scored late in extra time to give Crawley the 4 - 2 win.

Kelly N’Mai scored the only goal of the game in the 80th minute to give Salford the 1 - 0 win over Crawley. The Third Round of the Football League Trophy saw Crawley take on Peterborough. Nick Tsaroulla opened the scoring for Crawley but goals from Harrison Burrows and Ephron Mason-Clarke gave Peterborough the 2 - 1 win.

The most recent outing for Crawley was against Morecambe. Harry Forster gave Crawley the early lead, but a brace from Gerard Garner gave Morecambe the 2 - 1 win.

This will be the 20th meeting between Crewe and Crawley, with the first meeting coming back in 2011. Crewe have the better record in the fixture with 11 wins in comparison to Crawley’s three wins, with the other five games ending in a draw.
