Gillingham and Newport County will meet in this weekend's League Two action with the home side sitting up in seventh and with a lot of hope they will make the playoffs this season where Newport are still struggling.
Once again, it's been another rough start to the campaign for Newport and they are down in 19th with only four wins on the board and eight defeats too. Worse yet, only Sutton United in last place have managed to concede more goals than the South Wales outfit's 32 so far from 15 matches.
Newport will head into this match with no wins in the past four matches in League Two since defeating Colchester United where Will Evans and Omar Bogle scored once more for them.
Newport have since managed to lose to Harrogate Town, Swindon Town and Notts County, while they drew 3-3 with Walsall in another recent match during October.
Gillingham beat Swindon Town last time out with a finish from Conor Maloney in the second half. This was a return to the win column for the first time in seven games since beating Morecambe as the Gills lost to Doncaster, Crewe Alexandra, MK Dons, Walsall and Notts County. This has shaken their season up massively, moving from third into seventh in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, they still have eight wins on the board and six losses too, but with only 14 goals scored, they are by far the lowest-scoring side in the top seven playoff spots and no side across League Two have netted fewer. Their defensive record is a bit better, however, by letting in 18 goals.
