For our Grimsby vs. Colchester prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
Two mid-table sides meet in League Two this weekend as Grimsby Town host Colchester United.
Grimsby Town currently 16th in League Two with nine wins, six draws and ten losses from twenty-five games this season.
The Mariners have been up and down this season in terms of form but are sat in a relatively healthy position when one considers they have played fewer games than any other side in the league - in some cases as many as five fewer.
They enter this game amidst a strong run of form having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five league matches.
They also coming off the back of their best result of the season, too, as they inflicted a trademark FA Cup shock on Championship play-off hopefuls Luton Town in a 3-0 hammering on Tuesday night. The Mariners will be on cloud nine after that result as it means they're the only League Two side remaining in the competition.
Their record at home has been excellent of late, too, with The Mariners winning four of their last five games on home soil in all competitions.
Grimsby are entering this game in their best shape of the season and have the opportunity to make it four wins on the bounce in all competitions. The way they're playing, it'd be silly to bet against them.
Colchester United currently sit 17th in League Two with eight wins, seven draws and fifteen losses from thirty games this season.
Colchester have largely revived their season after a dreadful start and now look in good shape to secure survival despite still lingering fairly close to the relegation zone.
They enter this game amidst a solid run of form having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five matches in the league.
Most recently, Colchester drew 1-1 at home to Barrow in dramatic fashion, with Kwesi Appiah notching an equaliser in the 96th minute of the game to secure a point that would have felt like a win.
Colchester's away form has been outstanding of late, too, with The U's winning each of their last four consecutive matches on the road.
The U's were beaten 0-1 by Grimsby when the two sides last met in September so they'll be determined to get one back here. Given how they've improved they should be fairly confident.
This game consists of one side with an impressive home record facing off against a side with an impressive away record, so expect a tight encounter with a potential stalemate.
