Grimsby vs. Crawley Prediction, Tips & Stats

Crawley Town are looking to continue their impressive form as they face Grimsby Town in League Two this weekend.

Grimsby Town currently sit 15th in the EFL Championship with two wins, four draws and two losses from their first eight games of the season.

It's been a fairly mediocre start to the campaign by a Grimsby side that little was expected from coming into the season.

The Mariners are coming into this game amidst a fairly poor turn of form overall having won just one of their last five matches (W1 D3 L1).

Their most recent game saw them take the trip to Wales to face newly promoted Wrexham and Grimsby were firmly put the sword in a 3-0 hammering.

It was a fairly abject performance from The Mariners, too, where they managed just one shot on target all game.

Grimsby have, at least, been strong at home this season where they've won two and drawn two of their four games on home soil so they'll hope their resolve in front of their own fans can lead them to a big win here.

They're facing a side in good shape in this one so three points won't come easily, and they'll have to improve notably to stand any chance of claiming a win.

Crawley Town currently sit 6th in League Two with four wins, two draws and two losses from their first eight games of the season.

Crawley have had a surprisingly excellent start to the campaign despite entering the season with little hype surrounding them following a disastrous season last time out.

They're coming into this game in impressive form, unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions having won their last three in a row.

Their most recent game saw them run out 3-2 winners against Tranmere Rovers courtesy of goals from Ronan Darcy, Nick Tsaroulla and Klaidi Lolos, the latter of which came in the 96th minute of the game.

Given the dramatic nature of the win the visitors will now be coming into this game on cloud nine with momentum very much on their side.

Their form away from home has been a huge concern, though, having drawn two and lost two of their four games on the road so far this season.

They're having a much better season than their opponents and despite being away from home they'll fancy themselves to get a result here. Given Grimsby's form and position in the table this is where they should be looking to secure their first away win of the season.

For our Grimsby vs. Crawley prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

          Grimsby Team News

Grimsby could make a number of changes following a heavy defeat at Wrexham last time out.

Otis Khan and Callum Ainley are both pushing for places in the starting lineup.

          Crawley Team News

Klaidi Lolos bagged a last imbue winner against Tranmere last time out and will hope to be rewarded with a start here.

Otherwise, Crawley should line up as they did against Tranmere here.
