Grimsby vs Leyton Orient Prediction, Tips & Stats

Grimsby Town and Leyton Orient will clash in League Two this weekend as the league leaders look to extend their exceptional lead at the top of the table just as the home side look for just their second win of the month.

Grimsby head into this game having drawn 0-0 with Harrogate Town last weekend in what was a very dull and lacklustre game - there were just three shots on target across the two teams that day.

Prior to this, however, Paul Hurst's men managed to defeat Northampton Town 2-1 in arguably Grimsby's best performance of the season in League Two. Luke Waterfall scored that day before Anthony Driscoll-Glennon netted the winning goal in the 91st minute from 1-0 down.

Orient narrowly beat Crawley Town last weekend with a goal from Idris El Mizouni. This extended Orient's winning run to five games since losing to second-placed Stevenage in January and with the latter side slipping up in recent weeks since then, Orient are now 13 clear of Stevenage at the top of the table. On the other hand, Stevenage remain well in with a shout of the title, as the have three games in hand.

Grimsby team news

Grimsby could make a few changes to their side in this one withn them having quite a busy schedule coming up because of their FA Cup run. Harry Clifton, Llyod and McAtee should all remain in the attacking lines, however, but Ryan Taylor is also back to full fitness now. Owen Gallacher is also back in action and he will likely stay on the bench with Mikey O'Neill. Alex Hunt should get a start after missing the 0-0 draw with Harrogate Town. Emmanuel, Holohan, Morris and Driscoll-Glennon should all play here in midfield. Maher, Waterfall and Efete are all likely to play in the back three.

Leyton orient team news

Leyton Orient come into this game with a few injuries to deal with. Paul Smyth missed the last game with an injury but he should return here for Drinan. Sotiriou, Theo Archibald and Kieran Sadlier should all start here, but there is set to be a late fitness test for Idris El Mizouni after he scored the winning goal against Crawley but came off with an injury. Clay will stay in midfield, as George Moncur and Charlie Kelman aim to get into the starting XI here. Adam Thompson is also back for this one with Darren Pratley.
