Grimsby Town and Mansfield Town will meet at Blundell Park this weekend with the two sides heading into this one off the back of decent starts to life in League Two in the 2023/24 campaign.
Grimsby defeated Salford City 2-0 during the week with a goal in either half from Abo Eisa with the club only conceding one shot on target that day. It was, however, the first win of the season for Grimsby in all competitions after falling to a 3-2 loss to Notts County before that - Danny Rose and Harry Clifton scored a goal in the first half of that game.
Paul Hurst's side have also lost 2-0 to Mansfield Town in the EFL Cup first round this season after drawing with Wimbledon in the opening game of the season.
As for Mansfield, they drew 2-2 with Crewe Alexandra in their first match of the season where KD Davis carried on his excellent form with a brace inside four minutes at one point during the second half. Calum MacDonald was sent off in the first half, but he can play here.
Mansfield would also manage to beat Grimsby in the EFL Cup when Lucas Akins scored a penalty before Rhys Oates got his first goal of the season after playing so well in the last campaign. Mansfield beat Morcecambe last time out, as Davis got another goal alongside a brace from Akins. The club had 26 shots that day and 69% of the ball.
