Morecambe vs Bradford Prediction, Tips & Stats

Morecambe and Bradford City will meet at the Mazuma Stadium in League Two this weekend with both sides struggling in the early days of the 2023/24 season after just one win each in League One so far.

Morecambe's sole victory came in a 2-1 win at home to Walsall last time out, as the club saw Adam Mayor and Ferrend Rawson bag a goal each with the latter scoring in the final few minutes of the game.

A loss in the EFL Cup to Rotherham United would come soon after with Michael Mellon scoring his first goal of the season as the central striker, although the 1-1 draw would be followed up by a penalty shootout loss.

Morecambe went on to lose to Mansfield Town soon after in a 3-0 away loss, as Notts County would hold them to a draw at the Mazuma Stadium. The Shrimps have now scored just one goal in their past three games and are winless in the same time.

As for Bradford, they would lose to Crawley Town 1-0 in their first game of the season, as Daniel Oyegoke was also sent off in the first half. The Bantams edged past Accrington Stanley soon after, as Alex Pattison scored in a 1-1 draw before winning on penalties in the EFL Cup first round.

Bradford defeated Colchester United in their first win of the season soon after, but a 1-1 draw where Pattison scored again keeps them down in 13th after three games in League Two.

            Morecambe team news

Morecambe's 3-0 loss to Mansfield Town could bring some changes to the side. Adam Mayor, Mellon and Tom Bloxham were all taken off in that game against Mansfield in the front three, but they should all still be fit to play here and start once more.

Songo'o, McKiernan and King should all remain in the midfield once again, although we could see Jacob Davenport and Jordan Slew get minutes in this game. Jake Taylor and Cammy Smith are also bidding for starting roles after a terrible outing last time out against Mansfield.

            Bradford team news

Andy Cook will start up top once more for Bradford in this one, and we expect Oduor to start once more despite coming off in the last outing.

Alex Pattison scored the opening goal against Stockport and he should start here once more. Smith, Gillead, Smallwood and Oyegoke will all start in midfield once more with Stubbs, Kelly and Platt all set to feature here in defence. Emmanuel Osadebe and Liam Ridehalgh should feature here at some stage too with Kevin McDonald likely to get more minutes.
