Rodney Parade opens its doors for two out-of-form sides in League Two this weekend with Barrow aiming for a swift return to the win column at Newport County off the back of dropping down to eighth in recent weeks.
Barrow started the season in fantastic form but it headed into the international break after a loss at Holker Street to Blackpool in the EFL Trophy group stages. Before that, Kian Spence managed to snatch a win away from home against Harrogate Town to end a three-game winless run that saw them draw with Wrexham and Accrington Stanley while losing to Stockport County.
Nevertheless, after putting together a decent charge towards the playoffs last season, Barrow are still in eighth and have managed to collect all three points in wins over Sutton United and Tranmere Rovers, although they did exit the EFL Cup at the first round with a loss to Bolton Wanderers.
As for Newport, they are down in 13th with three losses and three wins on the board, while only Wrexham have managed to let in more goals than their 14 so far. Four of those came in the recent 4-1 beating from Crawley Town, as Omar Bogle got amongst the goals once more for Newport.
This does mean a three-game winless run for the Welsh side, as Wimbledon took a point off them before this, while Premier League side Brentford also knocked them out of the EFL Cup in the second round with a win on penalties that saw Newport miss all their efforts in the shootout.
