Notts County are looking to continue their excellent start to the League Two season as they face Mansfield Town in a big game this weekend.
Notts County currently sit top of League Two with seven wins, three draws and two losses from twelve games so far this season.
The newly promoted side have taken to life in League Two like a duck to water and, just as many people had predicted, they look like a strong contender to secure what would be successive promotions for them.
They're coming into this game in solid form on the whole having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five games in the league.
Their most recent outing saw them held to a 1-1 draw away at Barrow in a game that will have frustrated the away side. After taking the lead through a David McGoldrick penalty in the first half they conceded a penalty themselves with just eleven minutes remaining which was resultantly dispatched.
County were far from their best last weekend and having registered just one shot on target all game they'll know a point was not a bad result in the end.
They'll be hoping to rebound immediately here and given they've won all five league games at Meadow Lane so far this season it's hard to look past them.
Mansfield Town currently sit 5th in League Two with four wins and eight draws from twelve games so far this season.
Mansfield have had a strong start to the season all in all as they remain the only unbeaten side in League Two so far this season.
Their form has, though, faltered of late as they come into this game having won just one of their last five league outings with four of them ending in a draw.
Their most recent game saw them held to a 0-0 draw at home to AFC Wimbledon, a result that marked their second 0-0 draw on the bounce.
As a matter of fact, Mansfield have struggled in front of goal in recent weeks having scored just three goals in their last five league games.
Their away form in general has been weaker than their home form with Mansfield winning just one of their six league games on the road so far.
This is their most difficult game on paper so far this season and it feels quite likely that this is where their first defeat will occur.
For our Notts County vs. Mansfield prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
