For our Rochdale vs. Northampton prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the away side.
Northampton Town are looking for a much-needed win as they travel to face lowly Rochdale in League Two this weekend.
Rochdale are currently rock bottom of League Two with five wins, five draws and nineteen losses from twenty-nine games this season.
Rochdale have had a dismal campaign up until this point having spent the lion's share of the campaign in the relegation zone, with prospects of a revival currently looking pretty slim.
They enter this game in dismal form having lost each of their last four consecutive matches in the league, with their most recent game a 2-1 loss away at Salford City.
The loss at Salford came off the back of defeats against Carlisle United, Hartlepool United and Colchester United with the latter two results particularly ominous in terms of survival chances.
Their home form of late has been equally poor having drawn one and lost four of their last five matches on home soil.
Rochdale sit five points shy of survival and are looking more and more like a relegation certainty as the weeks pass by. Unfortunately, they have to face one of the league's main promotion contenders here so their losing streak will very likely be extended to five games.
Northampton Town currently sit 4th in League Two with fourteen wins, eight draws and six losses from twenty-eight games this season.
The Cobblers have had an excellent campaign so far and are well positioned to contest for automatic promotion throughout the latter third of the campaign, but their form has dipped of late which will be a concern.
They enter this game in solid form having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five matches in the league, the most recent of which was a 0-0 draw at home to Walsall.
The draw at home to Walsall was a disappointing result for The Cobblers as it allowed Carlisle to usurp them in 3rd place meaning they're now outside of the automatic promotion spots.
Their away form has been pretty rocky lately, with The Cobblers winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five matches on the road.
Northampton cruised to a 3-0 win over Rochdale when the two sides met in the league back in September and they'll expect a repeat result here.
Northampton are in need of a consistent run of wins after a fairly inconsistent run of form as they look to reclaim their place in the top three. They should claim all three points without too much issue here.
