Salford City are looking to push towards the top half of the table when they meet with the promotion hopefuls Barrow with the away side sitting up in fifth and only behind third by a handful of points.
Barrow are no doubt having their best season in League Two since coming into the division back in 2020/21. Previously, they have fought relegation and barely been able to touch the surface of the playoffs, but they currently sit up in fifth and with a gap of six points on those outside of the playoff spots.
Barrow are, however, heading into this game after a poor past month that has seen them lose grip on third and move to within four points on the third-placed Crewe Alexandra. They lost to Crewe around a month ago before a 1-1 draw with Notts County and a 1-0 win at home to fellow promotion hopefuls MK Dons. The club have also lost to Wimbledon and Forest Green Rovers in the past two games to put them with only one win in the past five games.
In total, Barrow have now won 14 games and lost only seven times - only Mansfield Town and Stockport County have lost fewer games. Barrow have managed to draw the most games in the division as well, as they've done so 14 times.
As for Salford, although not a long-standing member of the Football League and still their first five seasons in the EFL, they are expected to be much higher up in the League Two table and be campaigning for the playoffs. The club are, however, currently down in 19th and head into this game with 55 goals let in a 14 games lost - this is the same amount of games Barrow has won.
Salford are in fact only above the relegation zone by 13 points, and although this should give them enough confidence in order to stay out of the bottom two, the gap is also 10 points on the top 10.
