It's a huge game in League Two this weekend as Swindon Town travels to Greater Manchester where Salford City are up into sixth in the table after a fantastic run of form sees them comfortable in the top six.
Salford have played one more game than Stockport County in seventh so they may lose their spot in the top six if they lose here. However, with them scoring 41 goals and letting in just 31 from 31 games,l tehy are only behind fourth-placed Northampton by three points and should be considered serious contenders for promotion into Legaue One.
Salford have, however, not won in the past two games after drawing 1-1 with Harrogate Town on Tuesday evening after also losing to Tranmere Rovers 1-0. The club's last win came in an all-Greater Manchester affair against Rochdale. They also defeated Walsall, Sutton United and Northampton Town in January.
As for Swindon, they lost once more in the last outing as they head into the game now down in 11th in the table after their worst bout of form this campaign. Charlie Austin did score again, however, as he now comes into this game after four goals in 2023. Nevertheless, a 2-1 defeat keeps the club way further away from the playoffs than they expected. The club have six points to make up on Salford as well, so a win here will no doubt reignite their ambitions for League One football.
