Stockport vs. Hartlepool Prediction, Tips & Stats

Stockport County enter the final day of the League Two season with a mathematical chance of securing a place in the automatic promotion places as they face Hartlepool United.

Stockport County currently sit 4th in League Two with twenty-two wins, twelve draws and eleven losses from forty-five games this season.

Stockport have had an excellent campaign in League Two as they chance successive promotions, something that few would have expected they'd be able to achieve given the manner in which they began the campaign.

However, they've rallied in the second half of the season and they now must beat Hartlepool and hope that Northampton Town either lose or draw with Tranmere Rovers on the final day to ensure they steal 3rd place.

Stockport enter this game in fantastic form having gone unbeaten in their last twelve matches while winning three of their last five.

Their most recent game saw them claim an excellent 3-0 win away at champions Leyton Orient, a result that was their second win on the bounce.

The fact that Stockport's fate is not entirely in their own hands means expectations must be tempered going into Monday but they should get their half of the bargain done without too much issue. Over to Tranmere, then.

Hartlepool United currently sit 23rd in League Two with nine wins, fifteen draws and twenty-one losses from forty-five games this season.

It's been a tough, tough season for Hartlepool who will drop out of the Football League following this game having been relegated following a long campaign.

They improved in the latter portion of the season and picked up some decent results, but ultimately they performed too poorly in the first half of the season to give themselves enough of a chance to stay up.

They enter this game in poor form having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five games, but having beaten Barrow 3-1 in their most recent match they'll feel confident ahead of this game.

They're unlikely to get much here but they'll be desperate to sign off their Football League stint with three points.

For our Stockport vs. Hartlepool prediction, we're going for a 3-0 win for the home side.
