Sutton United will be aiming to avoid a fourth successive defeat as they are set to host Bradford City at Gander Green Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The U’s find themselves at the foot of League Two after a disastrous start to their season which has seen them gain just seven points from their opening fifteen league outings. This comes following just two wins, one draw and twelve defeats.
Sutton were narrowly defeated by Wrexham in their last league outing. The points were looking like they were going to be shared after a first half Paul Mullim strike was cancelled out by Aiden O’Brein in the second half. However, U’s hearts were broken when Wrexham found a winner in the 89th minute.
After a mixed start to their campaign, Bradford currently find themselves in the bottom half of the League Two table, occupying 15th place. This comes following five wins, five draws and five defeats from their fifteen league games.
Bradford featured in midweek League Two action as they travelled to face MK Dons. The Dons controlled the majority of the game and managed to create 11 shots on target as the game finished 4-1.
The history of the fixture Sutton United vs Bradford City is relatively short, as the two clubs have only met 10 times in competitive matches. The first meeting between the two sides was in the 2021/22 season, when Bradford won 4-1 at Sutton United in the FA Cup.
Since then, the two clubs have met eight times in League Two, with Bradford winning five of those matches, Sutton United winning two and the other match being drawn.
The two clubs have a very similar record against each other, with Bradford having a slight edge in the head-to-head record. However, Sutton United have won the last two meetings between the two sides, so they will be confident of their chances in their upcoming match.
Unsurprisingly, given Sutton’s dire start to their campaign, it is Bradford who are favoured heading into this matchup and are currently priced @ 6/5, whilst a home win for Sutton is priced @ 2/1.
We are backing Andy Cook to score the first goal in the game as he has shown some impressive form at the start of this campaign. Cook has found the back of the net five times so far this season and we expect he may be among the scorers on Saturday afternoon.
