Sutton United vs Forest Green Prediction, Tips & Stats

Sutton United are back at Gander Green Lane with Forest Green making the trip across the country for this one as both sides aim to move on from terrible starts to the season with just one win each so far.

Forest Green have been dealt a huge blow in the early stages of the season in what is their first campaign back in League Two after immediate relegation from League One last time out in what was a dismal 2022/23.

The club have won just one match so far, scored a dismal three goals and let in eight already. Their only victory came three weeks ago away to Harrogate Town, as the club would go on to lose to Swindon Town and Newport County before a 1-1 draw with Wimbledon last time out where Troy Deeney scored the game's only goal in his first game at the club in his player/coach role.

As for Sutton, they met with Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Cup second round on Tuesday, as Aiden O'Brien scored the game's only goal in a win on the road.

Nevertheless, despite a great cup run, they are also sitting with just one win in the league so far after beating Notts County way back on the opening weekend in a stunning 5-1 win.

            Sutton United team news

Sutton rested some big names in their midweek outing with Wycombe Wanderers. Omar Sowunmi came off the bench to get booked but he should start here. Harry Beautyman also missed the starting XI and should feature from the beginning here, and the same applies for Tope Fadahunsi and Lee Angol. Scott Connor Kashket and Jo Mohamed Kizzi should also feature. Omari Patrick will still play despite getting 90 minutes against wycombe, but it seems there is an injury to Smith and Jackson heading into this tie. Aiden O'Brien will be unlucky to miss out on a starting role after doing so and scoring the winner against Wycombe.

            Forest Green team news

Forest Green have had two sendings off already this season, as Sean Robertson got his marching orders against Newport County off the bench two weeks ago and he is still suspended. Harvey Bunker has also got a red card this season, but he is able to play here and likely comes into the starting XI. Matty Taylor and Reece Welch should start after missing the starting XI last weekend, but McAllister and McCann are facing late fitness tests ahead of this one. Matty Stevens and Omotoye will likely start up top. There are no other injuries or suspensions for the club to deal with. However, Toy Deeney could start here after bagging on his debut in his player/coach role last time out.
