Sutton United will welcome Walsall to Gander Green Lane this weekend with the home side sitting as the worst side in the Football League right now with a terrible run of form seeing them down in 24th after 11 games.
Although Cheltenham Town in League One sit with a worse record than them with no wins on the board, Sutton are bottom of League Two and now head into this match with one win, one draw and nine other losses. This has also seen the club put together 26 goals conceded, scoring only 12 of their own.
The only wins so far for Sutton have seen them defeat Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Cup first round away from home, as they also managed to edge past Cambridge United in the first round on penalties. What's more, the club, stunningly, defeated the now league leaders Notts County on matchday one in a miraculous 5-1 display, but they have not won a league game since and 19 points now separate the two in the table.
In recent games, Sutton have put together a three-game losing run after their draws in regular time with Aston Villa U21s in the Football League Trophy group stages and against MK Dons in League Two. They have since gone on to lose 2-1 to Port Vale in the EFL Cup third round, Crawley Town 3-0 back in the league before losing to Salford City last time out too.
Things are looking a bit better for Walsall, but they continue to lack consistency and are heading into this game in 13th and looking like finishing in a similar spot to last season.
Mat Sadler's side did draw 0-0 with MK Dons last time out and now head into this game off the back of also registering a 3-1 to Bradford City last weekend. Liam Gordon, Aramide Oteh and Freddie Draper all scored that day.
Further wins for Sadler's team have seen them defeat Salford City 2-1 away from home with them also defeating Colchester United back in September too.
