12th and 13th will meet in League Two this weekend at Prenton Park with Tranmere Rovers aiming to get back into the top half of the table in the final games of the campaign with Grimsby Town merely aiming to do the same these days.
It's that time of the season when mid-table clubs in the Football League have very little to play for other than the idea of finishing as high as they possibly can. Ahead of this one, only two points separate Grimsby and Tranmere and the latter has also played one game more, meaning just three left on the board.
The Merseyside outfit did finish ninth last time out and narrowly missed out on the playoffs and they will not get anywhere near their tally of 75 points they collected then.
Tranmere have now won 14 games and lost 17 times in League Two so far and with just 42 goals scored from 43 games, it's clear to see where they've gone wrong this campaign after netting 54 last season. Rovers have also let in 46 goals already and they managed to let in just 40 last campaign.
The club met with Rochdale on the road last time out and an own goal and a penalty from Joshua Stuart Hawkes earned a point in a 2-2 draw. they also lost to Crawley Town 2-1 last weekend, meaning their 1-0 victory at home to Swindon Town is all they have to boast about in the past 12 games since beating Crawley 1-0 back in February.
As for Grimsby, they beat Barrow 1-0 last time out and have also defeated Doncaster Rovers 2-1 in April. Other than this, they did lose 4-1 in a stunning lose at home to Hartlepool United and drew 1-1 with Mansfield Town last weekend.
Grimsby should secure a top half finish if they can win here, as they already sit two clear of Tranmere in 13th with a game in hand to work with too.
It's always a hard game to call when there is such little to play for, so we're heading for a draw in this one.
