Walsall vs. Wrexham Prediction, Tips & Stats

Wrexham continue their assault on the League Two automatic promotion places as they face Walsall on Friday.

Walsall currently sit 16th in League Two with eight wins, six draws and nine losses from twenty-three games this season.

The Saddlers are pretty much as expected at roughly the halfway stage of the season as they sit in the middle of the bottom half of the table, well clear of the relegation zone while not looking good enough to become a real playoff contender.

They're coming into this game in pretty good form having won four of their last five games in all competitions, the most recent of which was a handy 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

The win over Crewe came via goals from Freddie Draper and Oisin McEntee and confirmed their third win in their last four league games, meaning they're coming into this one amidst a very good run of form.

Their form at home has been pretty strong too as they come into this one having lost just one of their last five on home soil, winning both of their last two home games.

They're playing arguably the best side in the division on current form and will find it hard to take all three points here, but they've not been more prepared for a game like this at any point this season so there's plenty of reason to be optimistic.

Wrexham currently sit 2nd in the league table with thirteen wins, seven draws and three losses from twenty-three games this season.

The Welsh side are flying in League Two and look well on their way to successive promotions, something many predicted coming into the campaign.

They're entering this game in good form having lost just one of their last fourteen games in the league, winning four of their last five.

Their latest game saw them claim a handy 1-0 win away at Swindon Town thanks to James McClean's goal early in the first half.

Their away form has not been quite as strong as their home form with Wrexham having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five games on the road so they're slightly more vulnerable on the road.

However, there's little reason to suggest that Wrexham don't have what it takes to secure a top-three finish this season and a win here would only be further confirmation of their credentials.

Given Walsall's form it'll be a tricky game, but it still feels unlikely that Wrexham will lose this one.

For our Walsall vs. Wrexham prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

          Walsall Team News

Owen Evans and Rollin Menayese are likely to continue to miss out for the Saddlers.

Isaac Hutchinson should retain his place in the starting XI for Walsall with Mat Sadler unlikely to make any changes to the side that started the 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

          Wrexham Team News

Wrexham's poor recent disciplinary record is coming back to bite them as they enter this game without. the suspended James Jones and George Evans.

Jordan Davies and Luke Young will battle it out to take the place of Jones as Phil Parkinson likely sticks with the same starting lineup that beat Swindon Town 1-0.
