Leyton Orient will be looking to extend their winning run in League Two competition to three games when they host Morecambe at Brisbane Road this weekend. Orient regained a much-needed confidence boost, but the game against Morecambe will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. In-form attacker Danny Johnson will be the man to watch in the home team.
The Shrimps, on the other hand, are on a four-game winning run in the League Two. Morecambe suffered an expected 4-0 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup at the weekend, meaning that they will be fully focused on the promotion chase for the remainder of the season.
Given their attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Morecambe boss Derek Adams rested several first-team regulars in the Stamford Bridge clash, but he is likely to field the best possible side against Orient.
Leyton Orient head coach Ross Embleton will be back in the dugout for Saturday’s home match with Morecambe. The O’s boss has missed the last three fixtures while in self-isolation after he came into close contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
In his absence, Orient were able to win two of their Sky Bet League Two fixtures and will aim to record a third in a row against the Shrimpers. After last weekend’s clash at Carlisle was postponed, the east London club have been able to rest up since the 1-0 win over Salford on January 2 and have no new injury concerns.
Leyton Orient haven’t had any problems with scoring, hitting the target in one hundred percent of their last six matches. They’ve hit an aggregate of eight during that time while seeing the number of goals scored against them stand at seven.
Checking out their last six head to head duels going back to October 2015, both clubs have shared the honours with Leyton Orient winning three of those games six games and Morecambe winning three.
