Ajaccio are still fighting to survive in Ligue 1 this weekend with the club becoming increasingly more likely to head back down into Ligue 2 ahead of them playing host to the newly-crowned French Cup champions Toulouse.
Toulouse were beaten in their midweek encounter against Lens at home, but with safety secured in the French top flight all but mathematically secured and a French Cup now in their trophy cabinet, it means the defeat on Tuesday is barely set to impact their campaign.
What's more, fans are still living off the high of beating the defending French Cup champions in the final, Nantes. Toulouse went 4-0 up inside 31 minutes that day after a brace inside 10 minutes from Logan Costa and then a double from Thijs Dallinga soon after.
Zakaria Aboukhlal scored in the last 13 minutes of the game to make it 5-1, as Toulouse had seven shots on target, dominated the game and secured their first-ever French Cup title and just their fourth major honour in history.
They also managed to beat Montpellier in the league earlier in April before a 1-0 away win over Lorient, although they did also lose to Brest and Lyon in Ligue 1 last month. Toulouse are above the drop zone by eight points, but as there are only 15 points left to play for, they are all but safe in the league once more.
Ajaccio are in deep trouble still and now sit behind Nantes in 16th by 10 points. It means the club could be relegated by this time next week and with 61 goals let in and just 22 scored of their own alongside the 23 losses, it's near impossible to see how they get the job done.
Ajaccio had a terrible April and this has all but ended their hopes of getting into staying in the top division after losses to Strasbourg and Ajaccio in the league. At the same time, they've drawn 0-0 with Brest and lost to Ajaccio in the past two weeks and now won't head into this game with any confidence.
