Brest vs. Clermont Foot Prediction, Tips & Stats

Brest are looking to secure survival in Ligue 1 this weekend as they face Clermont Foot.

Brest currently sit 15th in Ligue 1 with nine wins, eleven draws and fifteen losses from thirty-five games this season.

The Ligue 1 side have found life difficult in the top tier of French football this season having flirted with relegation for the overwhelming majority of the campaign.

However, they now find themselves within touching distance of confirming their place in next season's Ligue 1 campaign as they need just two more points from their final three games.

Things looked grim for Brest just a few weeks back but a good run of form that has seen them lose just one of their last eight matches, while winning three of their last five, has helped them climb away from the dreaded drop zone.

Much of that has been carried by their excellent home form as they come into this encounter having won their last four consecutive games on home soil.

Brest will be confident they can see the job through here despite facing a well put together opponent.

Clermont Foot currently sit 8th in Ligue 1 with fifteen wins, eight draws and twelve losses from thirty-five games this season.

Clermont Foot have had an excellent campaign in Ligue 1 this season and have been one of the league's surprise packages as they look to secure an impressive top half finish.

They enter this game in outstanding form, unbeaten in their last seven matches having won six of them.

Their most recent outing saw them beat Lyon 2-1, a result that adds to a string of impressive wins in recent weeks.

Their form away from home has been good too, with Clermont Foot taking seven points from their last three games on the road.

Clermont were beaten 1-3 by Brest when the two sides met back in October but things have changed massively since then and the away side are a much more competent outfit than they were at that stage of the season.

Clermont need a maximum of seven points, but much likely less, to secure a top half finish and they'll have their eye on this one as a must-win.

For our Brest vs. Clermont Foot prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

          Brest Team News

Loïc Rémy is a doubt for the home side while Noah Fadiga continues to miss out through injury.

Brest will likely name an unchanged lineup from the one that started the win over Auxerre last time out.

          Clermont Foot Team News

Maxime Gonalons is doubtful but Mateusz Wieteska is available once again after serving a suspension and could return at the heart of the defence.

Given Clermont Foot beat Lyon in their last game it's unlikely they'll make any other changes to last week's starting XI.
