It's the final game of Ligue 1 action this Saturday when Rennes meets with Brest at the Stade Francis Le Blé as the away side aims to get into Europe for next season after a move into fifth in the past week.
Rennes have overtaken Monaco in the table after the club defeated Monaco to move into fifth and throw them down into sixth. Lovro Majer scored the opening goal that day before another finish from Amine Gouriri in the second half.
It have now brought Rennes onto 20 wins from 27 games this campaign with 65 points on the board after 12 defeats and five draws. They also remain the third-best defensive side in Ligue 1 this season after conceding only 38 goals all season long.
It was also the third league win in a row for them after a 4-0 victory over Troyes before a 5-0 win over Ajaccio that came in before the 2-0 win over Monaco. It means 11 goals and zero conceded in the past three games and it puts them as the best team in Ligue 1 after the past three games.
Rennes are still just one point below Lille in the race for a spot in the Europa League and they will now need to win and hope Lille draw or lose or draw and hope Lille lose in order to jump ahead of them in the table.
As for Brest, they are safe from relegation this season after putting together a healthy run of five wins in the past eight games. They also beat Marseille away from home last weekend and Clermont Foot before that to move them 11 clear of relegation this campaign. In fact, they were in the drop zone just six weeks ago.
