Strasbourg vs. Nice Prediction, Tips & Stats

Strasbourg are looking to pull further away from the Ligue 1 relegation zone as they face Nice this weekend.

Strasbourg currently sit 14th in Ligue 1 with eight wins, eleven draws and fifteen losses from thirty-four games this season.

Strasbourg have been a shadow of the side that finished 6th last season having spent the majority of the campaign battling relegation, and while they've pulled clear of the drop zone in recent weeks they're not safe yet.

They enter this game in good form having won three of their last four matches, the most recent of which was a 2-0 win away at fellow relegation rivals Nantes.

Their form at home has been good of late too, with Strasbourg winning three of their last five games on home soil.

Strasbourg are three points clear of Nantes in 17th with four games remaining so survival is in their own hands.

They still need a couple more wins to confirm survival but they face a good Nice side here so three points will be hard to come by.

Nice currently sit 8th in Ligue 1 with thirteen wins, twelve draws and nine losses from thirty-four games this season.

Nice aren't quite the outfit that secured a 5th place finish last term but they're still a well put together team and they've had a solid, if not forgettable, campaign this time out.

There will still be some pain felt by fans and players alike having fallen at the quarter-final hurdle of the Europa Conference League quarterfinal having lost 3-4 to FC Basel on aggregate with the second leg going to extra-time.

They seem to be getting overt that loss, though, as they enter this game in good form having won their last two games on the bounce.

Their most recent game saw them run out 2-1 winners over Rennes in what was an impressive win.

These two sides drew 1-1 when they met back August and given Strasbourg's good form we could see a similarly competitive affair here.

For our Strasbourg vs. Nice prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

            Strasbourg Team News

Eduard Sobol, Ismael Doukoure and Morgan Sanson are all doubtful after leaving the field injured in Strasbourg's most recent encounter.

Gerzino Nyamsi, Thomas Delaine and Ibrahima Sissoko are all confirmed absentees.

            Nice Team News

Nice could stick with the same XI that started the win over Rennes last time out.

With Nice now amidst a three-match win streak there is little reason for manager Didier Denard to change things.
