Auxerre's desperate attempt to preserve their Ligue 1 status continues this weekend as they face Toulouse away from home.
Toulouse are currently 13th in Ligue 1 with twelve wins, eight draws and sixteen losses from thirty-six games this season.
It's been an excellent season four a Toulouse side that came into the campaign fresh off promotion from Ligue 2 having this year triumphed to a Coupe de France victory while easily avoiding relegation as they now look set to cruise towards a mid-table finish.
They're coming into this game in fairly poor form having failed to win any of their last four games having draw their last three on the bounce.
Their most recent game saw them held to a 0-0 draw away at Nice, a result that is not too bad all things considered.
Their form at home is a huge concern coming into this game, however, with Toulouse having failed to win any of their last six games on home soil, losing five of them.
Toulouse have had a very commendable campaign but they'll desperately want to finish it on a positive not because as things stand their season appears to be fizzling out.
Fortunately for them, this is a very winnable fixture even if their opponents are fighting for their lives.
Auxerre currently sit 16th in Ligue 1 with eight wins, ten draws and eighteen losses from thirty-six games this season.
It's been a long, tough season for Auxerre as they find themselves just one point outside of the relegation zone with two games remaining.
They've unfortunately found themselves victims of the plan to change the Ligue 1 structure, as this season is an anomaly in that four teams will be relegated in order to accommodate a reduction from twenty teams to eighteen teams.
Any any other year they've had comfortably survived but they're now staring relegation in the face as they come into this game having failed to win any of their last five matches, losing three of their last four.
Their most recent game saw them lose 1-2 at home to champions-elect PSG.
Their form at home isn't great but they have at least registered an away win somewhat recently having won one of their last three on the road.
Auxerre have lost their last three meetings with Toulouse with the most recent being a 0-5 battering back in January, so the signs are not positive for the away side.
Auxerre need something here but, unfortunately, things are not looking promising.
For our Toulouse vs. Auxerre prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
