In Saturday’s early kick-off, Manchester City host Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium with Pep Guardiola’s side looking to stretch their 10 points gap to Thomas Tuchel’s men.
City’s staggering consistency this season sees them look like certain champions, having played 21 games, the same amount as the Blues who were tipped as Premier League favourites at the start of the season by some pundits following their victory over the Citizens in the Champions League final last season.
Last time these two sides met was back in late September, where City won the match at Stamford Bridge 1-0 thanks to a Gabriel Jesus in the 53rd minute, limiting Chelsea to few chances, as Tuchel’s side failed to have a shot on target in the match.
City’s last game was their 4-1 hammering of Swindon Town in the FA Cup, having also managed 2-1, 1-0, 6-3 and 4-0 victories over the likes of Arsenal, Brentford, Leicester City and Newcastle United.
On the other hand, Chelsea managed to progress through to the final of the Carabao Cup in midweek thanks to an Antonio Rudiger goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium giving them a 3-0 aggregate win following their 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in the first leg. Tuchel’s men advanced through to the Fourth Round of the FA Cup when they thumped Chesterfield 5-1, in their last five fixtures, they also drew 2-2 and 1-1 against both Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea
