Atlanta United vs. DC United Prediction, Tips & Stats

6th face 7th in MLS's Eastern Conference this weekend as Atlanta united face Wayne Rooney's DC United in Georgia.

Atlanta United currently sit 6th in the Eastern Conference with six wins, six draws and four losses from sixteen games this season.

Atlanta started the season strongly but have tailed off in recent weeks so they'll be looking to kickstart a sustained winning streak at home to DC United here.

They're coming into this game having won just one of their last eight matches, the most recent of which was a 3-3 draw at home to New England Revolution.

That draw was their third on the bounce and despite the lack of wins they can take some encouragement from the fact they're now unbeaten in their last four games even if they would have liked to have won one or two more in that period.

Their form at home has been fairly mixed too, with Atlanta winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five games on home soil.

Atlanta aren't in brilliant form but it feels as though they could be on the verge of a good run and three points here could very well be the catalyst.

DC United currently sit 7th in MLS's Eastern Conference with six wins, five draws and six losses from seventeen games this season.

It's been a solid campaign for Wayne Rooney's side this time out as they sit in the play-off spots at roughly the halfway point.

They're coming into this game in good form, too, having won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four games.

Most recently, DC claimed a solid 2-1 win away at Inter Miami thanks to goals from Donovan Pine and Christian Benteke.

Besides that win, DC's form away from home has been a concern of late with that victory their only away from home in their last five games.

DC have lost each of their last four consecutive meetings with Atalanta so they'll be desperate for three points here.

It won't come easy, but this is an even game that could swing either way.

For our Atlanta vs. DC United prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.

          Atlanta Betting Tip

Amir Sejdic, Erik Lopez and Osvaldo Alonso will all miss out for the home side here.

Striker Georgios Giakoumakis is looking to add to nine-goal tally this season, while Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada will attempt to continue to impress.

          DC United

Wayne Rooney is without a number of first-team players for this one as Luis Zamudio, Russell Canouse, Luan, Mohanad Jeahze, Nigel Robertha and Martin Rodriguez all likely absent for this one.

As such, DC United could be unchanged from the XI that started the win over Inter Miami last time out.
