Montreal and Charlotte are set to clash at the Bank of America Stadium this weekend after some midweek games in MLS as both sides aim to get their playoff march back on track in the Eastern Conference.
The two sides are right by one another in the league table with both sitting outside of the top seven. Charlotte is currently in 10th and only adrift of Montreal on goals difference having let in 33 goals, which is the most in MLS this year. They have still managed to secure 25 goals this campaign compared to Montreal's 19 and it now leaves the club in 10th and behind the top seven playoff spots by four points before the weekend games.
Charlotte drew 2-2 with Seattle Sounders last weekend after also losing 4-2 to Columbus Crew before that. Against the Sounders, Jaylin Lindsey, Ashley Westwood and Patrick Agyemang all scored a goal each.
Montreal got their seventh win in 17 games against Minnesota United in what was their best win of the season, as they smashed the Loons in Canada 4-0. Mason Toye bagged a brace that day, as Zachary Brault-Guillard and Rudy Camacho both scored a goal each.
It will be a close game given how they are right by one another in the table, and we expect to see Montreal get at least a goal because of Charlotte's terrible defensive record.
