Nashville are looking to build on their impressive campaign thus far as they face Chicago Fire in MLS this weekend.
Chicago Fire currently sit 13th in MLS's Eastern Conference with five wins, eight draws and seven losses from twenty games so far this season.
It's been a difficult campaign for the boys from the Windy City as they continue to fall further adrift from the postseason places in the East.
They're coming into this game amidst a mixed run of form having won two and lost three of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 3-1 defeat away at Orlando City.
Prior to the game at Orlando, Chicago had been on a decent run having won both of their previous matches so they'll be hoping they can rediscover that level of inspiration here.
Their form at home is slightly less encouraging, though, with Chicago having failed to win any of their last three games on home soil in all competitions.
Chicago are nine points shy of the Final Series places proper and they need to start winning games more consistently if they are to stay within reach of the top seven.
As far as this game is concerned, it looks a tough one on paper for the home side and any result would be a success.
Nashville SC currently sit 2nd in MLS's Eastern Conference with eleven wins, five draws and five losses.
Contrary to their opponents, Nashville have had an excellent campaign in MLS thus far as they find themselves right at the top of the standings.
They have, though, wobbled a bit in terms of form of late as they enter this encounter having lost two of their last three games.
A 1-0 defeat at Montréal was followed by a 2-0 loss in Columbus in what looked to be a concerning run of form, but thankfully Nashville brought the slide to a grinding halt with a 2-0 win over DC United last time out as normal service resumed.
The concern coming into this game is that both of those defeats for Nashville came away from home, and they now enter this game having won only one of their last five matches on the road.
Nashville are unbeaten against Chicago in each of the last four meetings between the two sides (W2 D2 L0) but have failed to win either of their last two visits to this venue.
They're the favourites to win here, but there's plenty of reason to be skeptical about the Eastern Conference high flyers taking all three points.
For our Chicago Fire vs. Nashville SC prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
