Chicago Fire and Toronto are set to battle it out this weekend in an Eastern Conference battle with the Canadian outfit failing to win another game last time out with the Fire up into the playoff spots after a better win.
Chicago have been on an excellent run of form in recent weeks after a terrible first few months in the 2023 seasons. The club have now won seven times and lost seven games as well after a victory over Montreal that saw Xherdan Shaqiri score a sensational strike from a well-worked free kick. Maren Haile-Selassie and Brian Gutierrez also scored with all three goals coming in the first half against Montreal.
The FIre have also defeated Nashville 1-0 in recent weeks after also beating Sporting Kansas City and Portland Timbers. The only loss in the last five games for the team has been to Orlando City.
As for Toronto, they head into the game with just three wins from 20 games. They now head into this one with 10 games lost and 10 draws as well, and with only 18 goals scored, only Chicago Fire at the bottom of the overall table has scored fewer goals.
The Canadian outfit lost last time out once more when St. Louis beat them 1-0. It was the fifth loss in a row for them, as Orlando City battered them 4-0 after losses to New England Revolution, Cincinnati and Real Salt Lake. It now means the club have also only scored one goal in the past five outings.
