Houston Dynamo vs Inter Miami Prediction

Inter Miami enter this game as favourites due to the overall quality of their squad as they possess the likes of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi amongst their ranks.

The visitors were sensational in last season’s Eastern Conference, as they managed to accumulate 74 points in 34 matches, scoring 79 goals in the process, finishing top of the standings eight points above second-place Columbus Crew.

Lionel Messi has already had an impressive start to the campaign, as he managed to create two assists in his side’s 2-2 draw with New York City FC on matchday one, while also scoring a goal in each legs of their 4-1 aggregate victory over Kansas City in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

On the other hand, Houston Dynamo suffered a 2-1 loss to FC Dallas last time out, showing defensive fragility, something that we believe Inter Miami will exploit.

Prediction: Houston Dynamo 1-3 Inter Miami

Houston Dynamo vs Inter Miami Prediction & Preview

Houston Dynamo hosts Inter Miami in what looks set to be an entertaining match-up in the MLS on Monday morning.

Date: 03/03/2025

Location: Shell Energy Stadium

Time: 12:00 am

This is the third time that these two sides have met in Major League Soccer history, with Inter Miami winning the first two meetings, while Houston Dynamo earned a narrow 1-0 victory over the visitors back in late April 2023, a pre-Lionel Messi era when The Herons were managed by former Manchester United defender Phil Neville.

Last season, Houston Dynamo finished fifth-place in the Western Conference with 54 points from 34 matches, scoring 47 and conceding 39. In the play-offs, the Dynamo were knocked out by Seattle Sounders FC in Round One.

Ben Olsen’s side have been busy in the transfer market, signing the likes of Uruguayan playmaker Nicolas Lodeiro from Orlando City, however, they did see some key departures take place, as Hector Herrera, Brad Smith, Junior Moreno, Latif Blessing and Micael all departed.

Inter Miami had a change in manager in pre-season, as ex-Barcelona and Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano joined the club following successful spells in charge of Argentina’s Under 20s and Under 23s.

The visitors made some interesting transfers in the off-season, as they acquired the likes of Oscar Ustari, Telasco Segovia, Maximilian Falcon and David Martinez, while seeing Diego Gomez depart for Brighton, while Facundo Farias and Leonardo Campana left for Estudiantes and New England.

Where to Watch

Houston Dynamo will be without the likes of Nicolas Franco Escobar, Artur and Griffin Dorsey for their match against Inter Miami.

Form Guide

Houston Dynamo

Houston Dynamo slumped to a 2-1 defeat on matchday one of the new MLS season, losing to fellow Western Conference side FC Dallas.

The Dynamo took a 1-0 lead through Amine Bassi in the 18th-minute, before goals from Petar Musa and Anderson Julio turned the game on its head in the second half.

Inter Miami

Inter Miami have played three times so far this season, having beaten Kansas City 4-1 on aggregate in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, with Lionel Messi giving Javier Mascherano’s men a 1-0 lead in the first leg, while winning the second leg 3-1 thanks to goals by Messi, Tadeo Allende and Luis Suárez.

On matchday one of the MLS, Inter Miami salvaged a 2-2 draw with a 100th-minute equaliser from Telasco Segovia, after goals from New York City’s Alonso Martinez and Mitja Ilenic gave the Boys in Blue a 2-1 lead after Tomas Aviles had given Miami a 1-0 lead before being sent off in the 23rd-minute of the game.
