Houston Dynamo and Los Angeles head into this game off the back of a game each in midweek with the Texas outfit aiming to keep up their excellent run of form at home in MLS after smashing Chicago Fire.
The Dynamo hammered Chicago 4-1 in a midweek U.S. Open Cup quarter finals battle to now edge into the semi-finals for the first time in the past eight years. Ibrahim Aliysu was the hero that day with a brace in the game and Houston are now heading back home to where all five of their MLS wins have come.
In fact, despite losing at home to Seattle Sounders 1-0 three weeks ago, the club have only let in two goals at home to after also letting in a goal during a 2-1 win against Austin.
It puts Houston as the best defensive side at home in MLS in 2023. This also means that 19 of their 21 goals let in this campaign have been on the road, including six of them in a 6-2 hammering from Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada last weekend.
The Dynamo remain in 10th as a result with the club now sitting behind the Whitecaps up in sixth by three points. Given the close nature of the results so far this season, a win for Houston would still put them up into the top six if other results go their way.
As for Los Angeles, they head into this game off the back of a 0-0 draw with Atlanta United on Wednesday. The defending MLS Cup champions remain the favourites to win the MLS Cup once more, however, as they sit behind St. Louis City at the top of the Western Conference by two points but with two games in hand. In fact, they've even got four games in hand on Seattle Sounders in second with just a one-point gap.
