LA Galaxy are hoping to turn their MLS misfortunes around as they face Philadelphia Union this weekend.
LA Galaxy currently sit 13th in MLS's Western Conference with four wins, seven draws and nine losses from twenty games so far this season.
It's been a frankly awful campaign thus far for one of MLS' premier franchises as the Galaxy find themselves near the foot of the table with almost nothing to shout about all season.
While they're coming into this game unbeaten in their last five matches, they've drawn four of those so they're not exactly pulling up any trees at the minute.
Their most recent encounter did see them register a much-needed win as they triumphed 2-1 in the Los Angeles derby at home to LAFC.
A win in the local derby will do wonders for the Galaxy's confidence and there's a good chance they'll come into this game with the wind in their sails.
Their form at home has been fairly solid of late too, with LA Galaxy winning two, drawing one and losing one of their last four games on home soil.
The Galaxy need to start accumulating wins if they're to turn their season around and given their strength at home they should view this as a prime opportunity to bag a huge three points.
Philadelphia Union currently sit 5th in MLS's Eastern Conference with ten wins, four draws and six losses from twenty games so far this season.
It's been a solid campaign for the Pennsylvania side as they look well on course to secure their spot in the postseason.
They're coming into this one amidst a rocky run of form, however, having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games.
Most recently, Philadelphia were beaten 2-0 away at Atlanta United, a result that marked another disappointing away outing.
Their form away from home has been a real concern of late having drawn one and lost two of their last three games on the road, something they'll have to overcome if they're to get a result here.
Not only that, but they haven't beaten LA Galaxy for over ten years having lost both of their last two meetings with the Los Angeles side so evidence would suggest they're going to find this one difficult.
Both sides need the win here and it's a tough one to call, but coming off a huge win the LA derby the Galaxy might just edge this one.
For our LA Galaxy vs. Philadelphia Union prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
