D.C. United heads to GEODIS Park this weekend to meet with Nashville after a contrasting period for the two sides with the Music losing two in a row just as D.C. managed to defeat the league leaders last time out.
D.C. inflicted just the second defeat of the season for Cincinnati after a goal each from Pedro Santos, Derrick Williams and Cristian Dajome in the first half of a sensational display. It was also just the second win in the past six games for D.C. as well as the end of a two-game unbeaten run.
It moved the club into ninth and above Charlotte in the table with seven wins on the board and eight losses. D.C. also scored for the 29th time that day against Cincinnati and it now means they have scored one more goal than Nashville and head into the game as the fifth-highest scoring side in the Eastern Conference.
As for Nashville, it's now two losses in a row for them in MLS after a 2-0 beating in Ohio to Columbus Crew, which also came after a 1-0 loss on the road to Montreal. It means the last win for Nashville came in that 3-1 win over the Western Conference leaders, St. Louis City, where Hany Mukhtar scored a hat-trick.
