New York City vs. New England Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two sides in need of a win meet in Major League Soccer this weekend as New York City FC face New England Revolution.

New York City currently sit 14th in MLS's Eastern Conference with four wins, four draws and seven losses from fifteen games this season.

After a strong start to the season that saw them win four, draw three and lose two of their first nine games, NYCFC's form has fallen off a cliff with Nick Cushing's side having failed to win any of their last six games, losing five of those.

Their most recent game saw them fall to a 1-3 loss at home to Cincinnati, a result that confirmed their second straight 3-1 defeat.

Their defence has been torrid in recent games having conceded eleven goals in the last five fixtures, so if their form is to improve they know which department they must first improve.

Their form at home is more encouraging with NYCFC having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games on home soil, but they've still lost their last two on the bounce so there's little reason to get excited.

NYCFC drastically need a result to help instigate a turn in their form and they can at least take some confidence from the fact they're playing another out of form side here.

New England Revolution currently sit 4th in MLS's Eastern Conference with seven wins, five draws and three losses from fifteen games this season.

Similar to their opponents, New England had an outstanding start to the MLS season but have tailed off notably in recent weeks.

They enter this game having failed to win any of their last five games on all competitions, the most recent of which was a 3-3 draw against Atlanta United.

The draw with Atlanta was their second 3-3 draw in a row, and having equalised in stoppage-time they may well have the wind in their sails coming into this game.

Their form away from home has been mixed having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five games on the road.

New England are unbeaten in their last two games against NYCFC so they'll feel like this is a good time to put an end to their barren run.

They're the team with more quality, but it feels as though anything could happen here.

For our NYCFC vs. New England prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
