Vancouver Whitecaps will welcome Sporting Kansas City to Canada this weekend with the away side aiming to get their fifth win of the campaign after a dramatic turnaround in recent weeks just as the Whitecaps aim for the top six.
Vancouver battered Houston in the last game. The club went 1-0 up inside 40 seconds after a finish from Pedro Vite but conceded seven minutes later and then went 2-1 down by the 16th minute. However, Julian Gressel bagged a brace alongside a finish each from Seb Berhalter and Ryan Gauld in a fantastic 6-2 win.
The Whitecaps are now sitting in the top six of the Western Conference and as high as they have been in MLS in the past five years after 15 games. The club also head into this match off the back of winning five games, drawing five and losing the other five.
They are, however, the second-highest-scoring side in the Western Conference right now after netting 25 times and letting in 19. Of course, six of those games came in a recent win.
As for Sporting Kansas, they have finally moved off the foot of the table after another win last time out that saw them batter Portland Timbers 4-1 last weekend and Dallas 2-1 during the week.
They have also drawn with the MLS Cup champions and favourites for the title, LAFC, during their recent run and beat Minnesota United and even edged out a win away to the Western Conference league leaders, Seattle Sounders.
