Sheffield United are searching for their fourth win of the Premier League season with one foot back in the Championship already with only 13 points on the board ahead of a visit to the Vitality Stadium to meet with Bournemouth.
The Blades, for the fifth time this season conceded at least five goals in a home game after a stunning 6-0 loss to Arsenal where five goals hit the back of the net in the first half. This also comes after an 8-0 thrashing from Newcastle United, a 5-2 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup and 5-0 in the league, and a 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
It now brings the club to within only 16 goals of Derby County's record in 2007/08 where they let in 88 goals. In reality, with 11 more games to play, Sheffield United are all but guaranteed to break this record and their main aim should be in not hitting the 100-goal mark of goals conceded.
Worse yet, the 6-0 loss to Arsenal was also their 20th of the Premier League campaign and it now leaves them 11 goals behind Nottingham Forest in the safe spot of 17th. The Blades have also scored the fewest goals in the league with 22 on the board.
The loss on Monday was also their third in a row, as they have still managed to get at least one win on the board in the past month by beating Luton Town 3-1 with a finish from Cameron Archer and James McAtee in the first half before Vinicius Souza netted in the second half.
Because of the terrible form of sides likes Sheffield United, Luton and Burnley, it has felt like Bournemouth have been safe for some time. The Cherries are above the bottom three by 11 points and have won five more games than the Blades after an impressive 2-0 win away to Burnley. Bournemouth have also managed to draw with West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United in February and have now lost the same amount of games as Manchester United in sixth (11).
