Liverpool are looking to maintain their place at the top of the Premier League table as they take on Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.
Brentford currently sit 14th in the Premier League with seven wins, four draws and twelve losses from twenty-three games this season.
The Bees have been well short of the high standard they've set over the past couple of seasons and it's looked at times like they're on the verge of being dragged into a relegation fight.
They're entering this game in fairly solid form, though, having claimed two crucial and much-needed wins in recent weeks having beaten Nottingham Forest 3-2 before overcoming Wolverhampton Wanderers by a 2-0 scoreline last weekend, with defeats against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City sandwiched in between those wins.
Brentford sorely needed those wins and have now opened up a six-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone, having also played one game more than all three sides currently occupying the bottom three places.
Thomas Frank's side have been boosted by the return of Ivan Toney following the striker's eight-month suspension and his impact has been instant, with the England international having claimed three goals and one assist in his four games since returning.
They've got a tough assignment here and might have to settle for walking away empty-handed, but if they can give a good account of themselves then the game will still be of value to them.
Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League table with sixteen wins, six draws and two losses from twenty-four games this season.
The Reds are having a very good season and are a much-improved outfit from the one that missed out on the top four last season.
They're gunning for a second league title under Jürgen Klopp this season but their hopes took a dint two weeks back when they fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in a game that saw the Reds thoroughly outplayed.
Liverpool made amends just six days later with a 3-1 win over Burnley at Anfield, but beating a relegation contender on home soil is a minimum expectation so they'll still be in search of a statement win and performance to wash away any lingering scepticism following the loss at the Emirates.
That defeat aside, Klopp's men have been good away from home in recent outings having won four of their last five league games on the road so they should feel confident of claiming another win here.
A win here will keep Liverpool top of the Premier League table and having beaten Brentford in both of the last two head-to-head meetings they should claim another win here.
For our Brentford vs. Liverpool prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
