Brighton & Hove Albion are set to welcome the relegated Southampton to the Amex this Sunday with the Seagulls aiming to get their Europa League quest back on track after a stunning loss to Newcastle United.
Brighton were not in the game throughout their clash in the North East. The club went 1-0 down in the first half after an own goal from Deniz Undav. Undav did score in the second 45, but two late goals from the Magpies gave Newcastle a 4-1 win.
Brighton now sit adrift of Liverpool by seven points with three games left for them to play and it still gives the club a chance to get into the Europa League, albeit, a slim one. This time last week, however, Roberto De Zerbi's men did get one of the results of the season by defeating Arsenal at the Emirates in a stunning 3-0 win.
As for Southampton, they are guaranteed to finish in last place if they fail to win this game with the club now adrift of Leicester City by six points with just six points left to play for. Regardless, they are already relegated and will be in the second tier next season after winning just six games this campaign so far.
