Coventry faced the toughest possible return to top flight football when they made the trip to the Emirates Stadium to face the Premier League champions, Arsenal. As predicted, that game ended in a convincing 3-0 win for the Gunners, but Coventry will have learned a few lessons from such a humbling defeat.
Hull City had the home advantage in their first game of the new season against Manchester United, but the hosts upset the odds to secure a much-deserved three points. Two goals from defenders proved enough for the Tigers to defeat a lacklustre United side and give the newly promoted club a huge confidence boost.
When Coventry and Hull locked horns in the Championship last season, both league games ended in goalless draws. In fact, five of the last seven league meetings between the two clubs have ended in stalemates, so don't be surprised if we see the points shared this weekend.
However, with Hull securing that excellent victory over Manchester United last time out, the visitors head to the Midlands full of confidence and will fancy their chances of claiming another three points against a Sky Blues side that weren't given much of an opportunity to play their natural game against Arsenal, due to a lack of possession.
